ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday directed the Punjab government to restore Ehsaas programmes in the province.
According to details, the former premier has directed the newly elected Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi-led provincial government to restore Ehsaas programmes, including health cards and Panahgahs (shelter homes).
The PTI chairman s also directed former special assistant on poverty alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar to help the Punjab government in restoring the welfare programmes.
“Sania Nishtar will soon reach Punjab and monitor the restoration of programmes in the province,” Imran Khan said. The former prime minister will also announce restoration of welfare projects in today’s address to the nation.
Meanwhile, the former prime minister decided to accelerate “aggressive” strategy against the “imported” government. The decision was taken during a meeting of PTI’s political committee under the chairmanship of Imran Khan. The meeting decided to accelerate the “aggressive” strategy against the federal government.
During the meeting, the former premier announced to address the nation and inform the people of Pakistan about his future strategy.
Speaking during the meeting, the former prime minister said that the current rulers have destroyed the country. He also praised the Supreme Court’s (SC) verdict in Punjab chief minister election, saying that the apex court upheld the Constitution and law.
