The chief minister said the motor-bike emergency service will be expanded to a further 27 districts. “We launched the Rescue 1122 service in Punjab [in 2006]. Punjab emergency service Rescue 1122 is a valuable and proud organisation of the province,” he asserted.
Elahi went on to say the service was initiated during his first stint as chief minister, from 2002 to 2007, and now its effectiveness is recognised worldwide. He said rescue work is not just a profession but it is tantamount to serving humanity.
