HYDERABAD: Four members of a same family, including women, burnt alive and seven others sustained critical burns in an explosion caused by a gas leak.
According to police and health officials, the explosion took place in a house located in Pathan Colony area of Hyderabad.
According to police, the incident occurred in Pathan Colony a day ago when the family had forgotten to turn off the gas hob at night following a gas outage in the area.
The gas accumulated in the house and explosion took place when one of the women of the house lit a match to prepare breakfast, said police.
Resultantly, 11 members of the family sustained critical burns and were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi in critical condition.
However, four of them breathed their last while the injured were admitted to the hospital.
