KHANEWAL: Chaudhry Ziaur Rehman on Wednesday submitted his nomination paper for by-election to PP-209, scheduled for October 2, 2022.
Locals say that no one is ready to contest on PML-N ticket from the constituency and Peer Jamil Shah of the PML-N refused to contest election against Faisal Khan Niazi of the PTI.
According to PML-N sources, Ziaur Rehman is the expected candidate of PML-N. His elder brother Chaudhry Iftikhar Nazeer is MNA from NA-159 (Jehanian). Similarly, his another brother Chaudhary Ataur Rehman is MPA from PP-210. His both brothers had won elections on the ticket of PML-N. Now, he is a strong candidate for PML-N ticket.
In Elections 2018, Faisal Niazi had won election on the PML-N ticket. The by-polls are being held on the provincial assembly seat after the resignation by Faisal Khan Niazi.
