Hyderabad-Jamshoro Bridge

The Hyderabad-Jamshoro Bridge over the Indus is in a dilapidated condition. The recent rains have damaged it rather badly. The bridge facilitates passenger vehicles, freight lorries and trucks moving to and from Karachi Port. It is a critical link between Karachi and the rest of the country, especially in terms of cargo movement.

In addition, the majority of staff members and students of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Sindh University, the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Shaheed Allah Buksh Soomro University of Art, Design and Heritage and employees of the thermal power house use it for their daily commute.

I am afraid that a delay in its repairs may lead to disaster and tragedy without much of a warning. Considering the urgency and importance, the authorities concerned should start the process on an emergency basis.
