Absurd talks against Imran: PTI asks PEMRA to act against responsible persons

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) approached PEMRA against very objectionable, reprehensible and absurd talks of Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah against PTI Chairman Imran Khan in a live TV program, seeking stern actions against relevant persons of the program in the light of PEMRA code of conduct.

PTI senior leader Dr Iftikhar Durrani in a letter to Chairman Pemra on Friday stated that on October 13, 2022, Rana Sanaullah was invited to Geo News program Capital Talk and used very inappropriate language against the PTI chairman in sheer violation of PEMRA.

Iftikhar Durrani said that in the beginning of the program, Rana Sanaullah used very dirty and reprehensible language against Imran Khan last night in Geo News program Capital Talk.

He wrote that the PEMRA law and code of conduct did not permit to broadcast such shameful talks on the national media.

He stated that the host Hamid Mir neither stopped nonsense conversation of the Interior Minister nor expunged his absurd talks instead the same program was even broadcasted again and was released on social media.

Iftikhar Durrani demanded that the Chairman Pemra should take immediate notice against the TV Channel for airing such objectionable contents in the said program.

He requested the regulatory authority to immediately remove the objectionable contents from media and social media, besides taking action against the relevant persons including the producer, director and editor of the program in the light of PEMRA code of conduct.
