ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Monday reduced Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) on networks of the SNGPL and SSGCL has been slashed by up to 2.28 per cent for the current month of October 2022.
According to OGRA determination, the authority fixed RLNG price for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) at $14.7850 per MMBTU and $15.1865 per MMBTU for Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) for October 2022.
According to the details, the authority has decreased the price for the consumers of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) by $2.19 per MMBTU which is 12.92 per cent lower than the RLNG price in September. After the decision to cut RLNG price, the price of imported RLNG has gone down to $14.7850/MMBTU for October.
Similarly, the price for consumers of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) has been reduced by $2.28/MMBTU which is 13.10pc less than the previous month’s notified price. After the reduction, the price of imported RLNG has reduced to $15.1865/MMBTU for the October.
According to OGRA, a total of eight LNG cargoes were imported by Pakistan State Oil (PSO) under two long term contracts with Qatar while Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) procured one LNG cargo during October.
The decrease in rates will also reduce the cost of electricity generated from RLNG based power plants during October.
It is pertinent to mention that OGRA determined RLNG price for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) at $16.9779 per Million British Thermal Unit (MMBTU) and $17.4762 per MMBTU for Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) for September 2022.
