LAHORE: The University of Gujrat (UoG) has been included among world’s top 1001 to 1200 universities by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023.
The Times rankings take into account an institution’s performance across four areas – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. This year’s rankings include 1,799 universities from 104 countries and regions.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Shabbar Atiq received an award during a ceremony organised by the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) honouring the vice chancellors of 15 universities in the province for their invaluable roles in promoting the cause of higher education in the country.
The UoG faculty of engineering, however, was placed among top 500 to 600, while faculty of science among the top 600 to 800 universities category.
The UoG ranked 23rd among Pakistani universities and 9th among public sector universities in Punjab by Times Higher Education rankings for 2023.
The PHEC ceremony, titled “Climbing up the Ladder” was chaired by Mian Imran Masood, Chairman of the Task Force of Chief Minister of Punjab for Education, secretary HED and Prof. Dr Shahid Munir, Chairman PHEC.
Prof Dr Shabbar Ateeq Vice Chancellor University of Gujrat received the shield for UOG, he was accompanied by his team including Prof. Director QECÂ Dr Rashid Saeed and Director ORICÂ Prof. Dr Audil Rasheed accompanied the vice chancellor.
