Cinematic Class

The ‘Legend of Maula Jatt’ marked the introduction of Pakistani cinema to the international scene. The movie, which debuted in theatres worldwide on October 13, is a remake of the 1979 ‘Maula Jatt’. For a Pakistani film, it is shattering all box office records worldwide. The film is not just being liked by cinegoers in the country but overseas also. Bilal Lashari, whose film ‘Waar’ also broke national box office records, is the director of the movie. Ammara Hikmat, a first-time producer, is in charge of the film’s production.

The big budget movie is a labour of love for the directors. The film’s top-notch production value and stellar ensemble, which included top-class performers with international fan base, made sure to draw in viewers. Fawad Khan plays Maula Jatt while Hamza Ali Abbasi plays Noori Natt. Also starring in major roles are Mahira Khan, Humaima Malik, Shafqat Cheema, Nayyar Ejaz and Gohar Rasheed.

The film is indeed a cinematic class and is being regarded as a breath of fresh air in a film industry that is struggling to find its feet back after a big period of flops and failures.
