Six coalminers kidnapped near Bolan

BOLAN: Some unidentified armed persons kidnapped six coalminers from Machh area of district Bolan, the police said on Sunday.

According to police, the labourers working in three lease coalmines in Machh were returning homes when some unidentified armed men intercepted and kidnapped them in late the other night.

The kidnapped miners were identified as: Sartaj, Rozimand, Barkat, Faram Uddin, Aman Ullah, and Jamal Khan. The companions of the coalminers informed the police about the incident. Police said that they visited the coalmines where the labourers were working. They said that a CTD team from Jafarabd would help them find the kidnapped miners.

They said that four of the abducted colliers belonged to Shangla, and one each from Machh and Qila Abdullah.

Coal miner crushed to death

Meanwhile, a coal miner was crushed to death when a mud hillock fell over him in district Harnai of Balochistan.

“The incident occurred in Talib Lease Coalmine Area,” Pakistan Coalmines Labour Federation said on Sunday.  They said that rescuers retrieved the body of the collier from under the rubble and shifted it to the District Headquarters Hospital.

After taking necessary legal action, the body of the coal miner will be handed over to its heirs.

The deceased miner belonged to Afghanistan.
