FBR suspends flagship initiative of POS Invoicing Prize Scheme

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue has suspended the flagship initiative of Point of Sales (POS) invoicing Prize Scheme after 10 months.

FBR on Tuesday suspended SRO 1005 of 2021 regarding POS Prize Scheme till 31st January, 2023 to make it more inclusive and participatory for the public.

All invoices verified during intervening period will be included in the next prize draw.

The new scheme will be launched after discussions with Tier-1 retailers, card acquirers, issuers, and other stakeholders and anew scheme would be launched very soon.

Sources said that the tax department want to ascertain how much revenue has been collected by offering this scheme.

It is pertinent to mention here that FBR has hold 10 lucky draws so far and in each lucky draw, department has given 1017 lucky winners amount ranging from Rs50,000 to Rs1 million.
