DG GDA reviews pace of work on Gwadar Old Town Restoration Project

GWADAR: Director General (DG) of Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) Mujibur Rahman Qambrani Friday visited the Gwadar Old Town Restoration Project and reviewed the ongoing work on the restoration and conservation projects of historical heritage Char Padgu, Tar Office, Shahi Bazar, Ismailia Mohalla and Omani Fort.

On the occasion, Director General GDA said that the historical and cultural places of Gwadar are currently in a dilapidated condition.

“Their restoration and preservation has been included in the city’s development plans, which are part of the Old Town Revitalization Plan,” he said adding that high quality will be ensured in their preservation and restoration work.

The Director General also reviewed the proposed road site from Gwadar’s old market Gulag to Demizar. Giving briefing to DG, Chief Engineer Syed Muhammad said that under GDA, a road was constructed along the East Bay Expressway for the convenience of fishermen and the adjacent population.

A link road has been proposed to connect this road with the ancient and historical market of Gwadar, Gulag, the construction of which will facilitate the transportation of goods and traders.
