Gas crisis

With the arrival of winter season, natural gas has become a rare commodity. Unannounced gas loadshedding has increased in different parts of the country, and people are forced to live without gas for hours. Many factories have been shut down due to gas shortage and labourers have been laid off. Children and adults have to go to schools and offices without breakfast.

Disappointingly, the federal and provincial governments do not have any concrete plan to provide relief to the people. They are only trying to complete their tenure by hook or by crook.

There is a need for a clear plan of action to deal with such issues.

Despite being rich in natural resources, Pakistan is faced with a plethora of problems due to unsustainable policies and meaning-less measures by successive governments. It is time to focus on strengthening the national economy which is only possible by first ensuring some level of political stability.
