Girls sweep top positions as UoG declares AD results

GUJRAT: Girls made a clean sweep, yet again, by claiming all top positions as the University of Gujrat (UoG) announced the results of Associate Degree Arts/Science/Commerce (part I&II) Annual Examinations for the year 2022 on Wednesday. The results for the BA/BSc/ (Part I & II) B.Com IT (part II) annual examinations were also declared. The exams were held in August and September this year.

The results were announced by a notification issued by the controller of examinations, Ms Tanzila Qamar.

In the Associate Degree Science exams, Emania Khalid of Superior Group of Colleges Mandi Bahauddin bagged the first position with 700 marks, Zoya Jabeen of Ibn-e-Imam Science College, Jalalpur Jattan, Gujrat captured the second position with 696 marks while Nargis Mahnoor of the same college secured the third position with 675 marks.

The first position in Associate Degree Arts annual exams was claimed by Maryam Zafar of Ghazali College for Women, Phalia with 629 marks. The second position was bagged by Nameera Mushtaq of Govt Degree College for Women, Dinga, Gujrat with 604 marks. The third position was held by an external candidate, Hurmat Jan, with 601 marks.

In Associate Degree Commerce annual exams, Kainat Asghar of Punjab College (W) Lalamusa (Wehnd) secured the first position with 1153 marks. Sana Afzal of Superior Group of Colleges Kotla Arab Ali Khan bagged the second position with 1120 marks. Ayesha Jabeen of Superior College, Gondal Road, Sialkot claimed the third position with 1068 marks.

According to the controller of examinations, as many as 5078 candidates appeared in the part I exams of AD Arts, 1417 in AD Science and 610 in AD Commerce with the pass percentage of 30.49, 35.29 and 15.12 respectively.

In the part II exams, a total of 4244 appeared in AD Arts, 1575 in AD Science, and 352 in the Commerce stream with a pass percentage of 38.06, 74.17 and 44.29 respectively.

Meanwhile, a grand prize distribution ceremony was held at Hafiz Hayat Campus in which Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Shabbar Atiq awarded the position holders with merit certificates and cash awards.

Toppers in each category were awarded a cash prize of Rs25,000. Second position holders received Rs20,000 each while third position holders were awarded Rs1,5000 each.

The ceremony was attended by senior administration officials, academics and parents of the position holders.
