ISLAMABAD: The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria has allocated over $281 million for Pakistan to combat the diseases for the next three years, a spokesperson for the Ministry of National Health Services told Xinhua.
The agency has helped Pakistan counter diseases and will continue it for the upcoming three years, Sajid Hussain Shah said.
The funds will be transferred to national departments dealing with disease control across the country, which will use them to protect the local community from HIV, tuberculosis and malaria, said the official.
A decision was adopted earlier in November to make the allocation for 2023-2025 for building resilient and sustainable health systems in Pakistan, the official said.
A total of around $65 million have been allocated for HIV patients, whereas about $182 million will go to the treatment of tuberculosis, with around $34 million for Malaria, the official added.
