ISLAMABAD: Top-ranked Aqeel Khan and Muhammad Shoaib cruised into the semi-finals of men’s singles event of the 7th Serena Hotels National Ranking Tennis Tournament 2022 after beating their respective opponents in the quarter-finals here at PTF SDA Tennis Complex on Friday.
Aqeel Khan outclassed Barkatullah 6-2,7-6(3), while Shoaib overpowered Heera Ashiq 6-4, 6-2.
In another quarterfinal, Muhammad Abid toppled Mudassir Murtaza 6-1,3-6,6-4. Earlier, Yousaf Khalil had moved to the semi-finals on Thursday after outshining Muzammil Murtaza 6-3,1-6,6-1 in the quarter-final.
Contests in other categories were also held on Friday.
