Rasheed declares end of PML-N’s politics in Lahore

ISLAMABAD: Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad said the successful vote of confidence for Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party, had been planned for three days and that the outcome was clear.

He also criticized Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, saying he had been sent to bring “Takht-i-Lahore”, a term referring to PML-N’s stronghold in Lahore, but instead returned with the PML-N’s “coffin.”

Ahmad went on to suggest that this outcome demonstrated the difference in how politics is done by the PML-N and by the leader of the opposition Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) party, Imran Khan.

Additionally, Ahmad stated that he believed that the injured leader of the opposing party, Imran Khan, would dissolve the provincial assemblies and launch his electoral campaign.

It’s worth mentioning that the vote of confidence is a procedure in which a political leader or government seeks to demonstrate that they still have the support of the legislature, usually after a significant loss of support or a major political event.
