LAHORE: The interim written order of the Lahore High Court (LHC) to suspend the Lahore Master Plan 2050 has been issued.
According to the details, the LHC directed the Environment Department, Lahore Development Authority (LDA), and other parties to submit their reply by January 25.
As per sources, it has ben learnt that LHC Justice Shahid Karim issued a two-page written decision on the petition of citizen Abdul Rehman against the Lahore Master Plan 2050.
It is stated in the LHC’s interim order that important legal points have been raised in the petition and hence the petition is allowed for hearing.
It added that the implementation of the master plan will remain suspended till the next date.
In the interim order, the arguments of the petitioner’s lawyer Shehzad Shaukat have also been included.
The master plan of Lahore is in violation of the LDA Master Plan Rules 2014, the petition said.
