MUZAFFARABAD: Representative of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Female wing Mehnaz Qureshi has said that Kashmiri women will stage protest procession on International Women’s day to seek world conscience attention towards deteriorating situation in Occupied Kashmir.
In a statement issued here on Monday, she said that Narendra Modi government in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir is flouting international laws related to women’s rights through the worst state oppression and violence against women.
She said that an anti-India rally at Burhan Wani Chowk on March 8th to seek the United Nations, European Union and other international human rights organizations attention towards Indian military atrocities on Kashmiri women.
Mehnaz Qureshi maintained that the brutal government of Bharatiya Janata Party in Jammu and Kashmir is openly violating women’s rights by using oppression and violence against Kashmiri women as a weapon of war.
She said that due to the presence of millions of brutal soldiers in the small region of Kashmir, Kashmiri women and girls are forced to live in the shadow of terror.
“Whole world celebrates the day for the protection of women’s rights, but India’s violence and brutality against women in occupied Jammu and Kashmir is openly destroying international norms and laws”, she added.
She said that Kashmiri women who have been oppressed for more than three decades are continuously demanding justice.
“Syeda Asia Andrabi, Fahmeeda Sufi, Naheeda Nasreen, Naseema Akhtar and other Kashmiri women imprisoned in Indian jails are still seeking justice”, she lamented.
“What punishment was given to the Indian soldiers involved in the sad incident of Kunnan Poshpora?” she asked.
