Police arrest PTI activists on Imran Khan’s arrival at IHC

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police took several PTI activists including PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s photographer into custody from Srinagar Highway on Monday.

The arrests followed the arrival of Mr Khan at the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for pre-arrest bail in seven terrorism cases. PTI leader Ghulam Sarwar Khan managed to dodge policemen and escaped.

Police swung into action after PTI workers allegedly violated Section 144 imposed by the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) to prevent gatherings. On its Twitter handle, the PTI shared video clips of workers’ arrests.
