Bhakkar Court ‘discharges’ Gandapur of illegal weapons case

BHAKKAR: A local court on Friday discharged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Amin Gandapur of the illegal weapons recovery case.

Senior Civil Judge Bhakkar, Asif Niaz heard the case of illegal weapons recovery filed against PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur. During proceedings, the court dropped the illegal weapon recovery charges against Gandapur after listening to agreements from both the defense and prosecution.

In a media talk after the hearing, Mr Gandapur’s attorney said his client was ‘forcibly’ nominated in the illegal weapons case but the court by upholding the law, discharged his client of the trumped-up charges.

Afterwards, the PTI leader was produced before the court of civil judge Bhakkar, Muhammad Waseem in another case.

Earlier today, Ali Amin Gandapur was transferred from Islamabad to Bhakkar Saddr Police Station, where three cases have been registered against him under the provisions of terrorism and attempted murder. The Bhakkar Police had sought three-day transit remand of Ali Amin Gandapur. However, Duty Magistrate Naveed Khan, handed over the PTI leader to the Bhakkar Police on one-day transit remand.
