The internet has become an integral part of our lives, especially for youngsters. In today’s digital era, the internet provides a wealth of information and entertainment, and it has made communication easier than ever before.
Perhaps most importantly, the internet has opened up a whole new world of information. Since it is a vast and democratized library of information, it provides the youth access to various educational resources, such as e-books, research papers, and online courses. Young people can learn new skills and knowledge, and stay up-to-date on current events and trends. This is especially important for students who may not have access to these resources in their schools or local communities.
But unfortunately the younger people are not reaping the benefits of this great technology to their benefit. Instead they are misusing the internet by wasting time on useless and time consuming apps. The young minds are being shaped and influenced in a harmful manner by the continuous unchecked exposure to everything negative on the internet.
There are a lot of influencers online which have millions of followers on the popular social media apps and they are not guiding the younger generation in the right manner. Instead the younger generation has started on a venture that will not be proving as beneficial in the long run.
Internet is not just online gambling and gaming. There are a lot of healthy activities that younger lot can engage themselves into.
For example, the internet has made communication easier than ever before. Social media and messaging apps have revolutionized the way we communicate with each other. People of all age groups can connect with friends and family members who live far away, and they can make new friends from all around the world. This has helped to break down cultural barriers and promote understanding and tolerance.
In addition to this, the internet has provided new opportunities for creative expression. Young adults can use various platforms to showcase their talents and creativity, such as YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. They can share their thoughts, ideas, and work with other like-minded individuals, and even monetize the fruit of their labour.
Speaking of economic opportunity, the internet has revolutionized the way we do business, offering new and massive economic opportunities that were never before possible. From e-commerce and online marketplaces to digital advertising and social media marketing, the internet has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes.
The rise of freelancing and remote work has also been made possible by it, allowing individuals to tap into a global talent pool and work from anywhere in the world. Furthermore, the internet has made it easier to access information and education, providing people with the tools and knowledge they need to start and grow their own businesses. Overall, the internet has created a more level playing field, giving everyone the chance to succeed in the global economy.
It is therefore the need of the hour that parents, together with schools and teachers, should work together to inculcate positive habits in their children to enable them to use the internet effectively as a means of learning, communication, and artistic expression. After all, it is a tool – an extremely powerful one, and the result of using that tool depends entirely on the capability and intentions of the one wielding it.
