Children continue to bear brunt of Indian brutalities in IIOJK

ISLAMABAD: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, as the world is observing International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, Kashmiri children continue to bear the brunt of Indian brutalities in IIOJK.

A report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service on the occasion of the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, today, (June 04), said ‘International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression’ has no meaning for Kashmiri children as they continue to face Indian barbarity.

It said Indian aggression against Kashmiri children has increased manifold, especially since 5 August 2019 when the Modi regime repealed the special status of the territory and imposed military siege.

It said the children in IIOJK are sexually abused, jailed, beaten and even killed by Indian troops, adding that hundreds of children have been killed by troops during the last 33 years in the occupied territory.

The report deplored that thousands of children had lost their parents since 1990 in IIOJK and hundreds of children had lost their eyesight due to firing of pellets by Indian troops.

It said women and children in the occupied territory are the biggest victims of Modi regime’s inhuman policies, adding 22,960 women widowed, 107,903 children orphaned from Jan 1989 to 31 May 2023.

It said use of violence by Indian troops against children in IIOJK has lifelong impacts on their health and well-being as children in the territory are traumatized for life by watching their loved ones getting killed by Indian troops in front of their eyes.

The report urged the world not to forget the plight of the Kashmiri children on ‘International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression’, saying the best way to mark the Day is to come to rescue Kashmiri children from Indian aggression.
