JI leader seeks democratic struggle for Balochistan’s people rights

QUETTA: Moulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, General Secretary, Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and leader of Haq Du Tehreek, Gwadar, said Sunday rather than waging armed struggle on mountains, he preferred waging democratic struggle for the rights of the people of Balochistan, particularly of Gwadar.

Addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club here on Sunday, he said those found involved in illegal hunting of fish in the maritime domain of Gwadar were also terrorists. He said intoxicating drugs available in City Nala of Quetta city was being used in Chief Minister’s House.

He remarked that he had been compelled to start political movement for the rights of fishermen of Gwadar afresh, adding after the government of Pakistan Democratic Movement assumed power, activities of illegal trawling in the maritime domain of Gwadar had increased manifold.

Moulana said that one Baloch nationalist party was opposing the demands of Haq Du Tehreek, Gwadar, adding that even the bed room of Chief Minister Balochistan in Chief Minister’s House, Quetta was in the control of one Baloch nationalist party of Balochistan.

He said that Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo had concluded agreement with Haq Du Tehreek, Gwadar in black and white to address the issues of fishermen of Gwadar and other citizens of Gwadar, but after inking the accord, Chief Minister Balochistan started opposing the demands of HDT, Gwadar. He said that HQT gave new hope to the disappointed youth of the province. On the occasion, leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami, Balochistan, Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman, Sultan Mehnati, Abdul Majeed and others were also present.
