ISLAMABAD: In a security operation in Tank and North Waziristan districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, raiding troops killed six militants involved in attacks against the security forces and civilians, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
An exchange of fire occurred between army troops and terrorists in the Manzai area of Tank on the night of June 29-30. The troops engaged the terrorists’ location, resulting in the elimination of three terrorists.
The security forces also seized weapons and ammunition from the neutralised terrorists.
In a separate operation in the Razmak area of North Waziristan, a fierce encounter between troops and terrorists led to the elimination of three more terrorists. These individuals were known to be involved in terror activities against security forces and were responsible for the killing of innocent citizens, according to the military.
The areas are currently being sanitised as part of ongoing efforts to trace and eliminate any remaining terrorists, according to the ISPR.
The local community has expressed its support for the operation, appreciating the efforts of the army troops in combating terrorism and ensuring the safety of the region’s residents, the ISPR added.
