Judicial remand of fashionista extended by 14 days

LAHORE: The judicial remand of Khadija Shah, a well-known fashionista, has been extended for an additional 14 days in an arson case by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore.

The court has directed the police to present Shah in court on July 17 and to submit the case challan.

Following the sudden arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan on May 9, thousands of people across several cities in the country took to the streets in protest.

These protests escalated to the point where government and military installations were vandalised, and memorials dedicated to army martyrs were damaged.

In response to these incidents, the government accused opposition leaders and workers of instigating the violence and initiated a nationwide crackdown on them.
