SARGODHA: The world is undergoing rapid evolution, and it is crucial for academia to adapt and anticipate the changing needs of learners and society as a whole, stated Prof Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Pakistan.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed addressed the “Future of Education 2023” conference held here, organized by the University of Sargodha (UoS) on Monday. He shared insights into the transformative role of education in Pakistan, emphasizing the need for adaptation in the face of evolving challenges.
The conference aimed to explore the changing landscape of education, tackle upcoming challenges, and uncover opportunities. Chaired by Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, the Vice Chancellor of UoS, the event saw the participation of academic and administrative heads from various UoS departments and offices.
Prof. Dr. Abbas highlighted the significance of quality education, research productivity, innovation, and collaboration in advancing the education sector. He emphasized the role of universities in providing holistic education, conducting impactful research, integrating innovative technologies and teaching methods, and fostering collaborations with academia, industry, and policymakers.
The conference served as a platform for meaningful discussions and idea exchanges, with the ultimate goal of charting a path towards a progressive and inclusive education system.
Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed emphasized the HEC’s commitment to promoting research, technological integration, and global collaborations. He stressed the importance of equipping students with market-oriented skills and ensuring their preparedness for the future workforce.
