LAHORE: In a Khuli Katchehri (Open Court) organized by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), a significant number of individuals who claimed to be victims of fraud committed by the real estate mafia and various housing societies presented their grievances.
The Khuli Katchehri took place as part of NAB’s efforts to address corruption and embezzlement-related concerns faced by the public.
The spokesperson of NAB informed that under the directives of NAB’s Chairman, Lieutenant General (R) Nazeer Ahmed, the second monthly Khuli Katchehri aimed to provide a platform for the affected individuals to voice their issues. The Director-General of NAB Lahore, Amjad Mehmood Aulakh, oversaw the proceedings, ensuring a transparent and fair process.
“Victims from housing societies such as Amin Housing Society Lahore, Lahore Motorway City, Pak Memon Group, Abu Zar Housing Scheme, and Formanites Housing Society shared their complaints during the session. NAB Lahore has undertaken a thorough investigation into these cases to expedite the resolution process and deliver justice to the affected parties,” he informed.
During the event, the Director-General of NAB Lahore assured the victims that NAB remains committed to taking strong actions against corrupt elements within the city. He explained the importance of these Khuli Katchehri in addressing the issues faced by the public promptly and transparently.
NAB Lahore’s efforts to hold corrupt individuals accountable were also highlighted, with previous recoveries of significant amounts from corrupt elements being acknowledged. The Director-General expressed determination to continue utilizing available resources to ensure the effective redressal of victims’ losses and the prosecution of corrupt individuals.
In response to the victims’ convenience, NAB Lahore announced its commitment to continue holding monthly open sessions every month as this move aims to provide complainants with an opportunity to seek immediate justice for their grievances.
