UK-returned girl, youth swept away by River Kunhar

MANSEHRA: Two teenagers including a UK-returned girl were swept away by gushing waves of River Kunhar in separate incidents, rescue sources said on Tuesday.

According to details, a 14-year old girl who had returned from UK to spend summer vacations during a visit to home of relative in Garhi Habibullah while taking selfie at bank of River Kunhar slipped off, fell into the river and was swept away by the fast-moving water. The rescue divers fished out the body after hard struggle.

Another 19-year old youth, Muhammad Dildar, son of Muhammad Yaqoob hailing from Hisari while taking bath in River Kunhar near old bridge of Garhi Habibullah swept away by fast moving water. Search for the body is underway, the rescue sources informed.

On the other hand, an environment of grief and sorrow prevailed in the area due the death of two youth on the same day.
