ISLAMABAD: Another quake of mild intensity hit several cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa early Sunday morning.
According to National Seismic Monitoring Centre, tremours measuring 5.4 hit Bajaur, Upper and Lower Dir, Chitral and Kurram areas. The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 5.4 on Richter scale, with its epicentre located in the Hindukush mountain range at a depth of 196 kilometres beneath the surface.
Earthquake tremors were also felt in other cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) including Malakand, Khyber, Landi Kotal and Peshawar.
The cities which were shaken by the quake in Punjab included Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, Kharian, Faisalabad and Hafizabad.
There was no loss of life or property reported so far. However, people got panicked and came out of their homes reciting Kalima-e-Tayyaba.
Only yesterday, the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, and parts of KP and Punjab were jolted by an earthquake, which, according to the Seismological Centre, was measured on the Richter scale at 5.8.
It added depth of the earthquake was 196 km while its epicentre was the Hindukush region in Afghanistan.
