Ex-lawmakers, leaders among 1,500 PTI activists booked for taking out Independence Day’s rally

SWAT: The Mingora Police have registered a case against 22 named and 1400 to 1500 unidentified persons including City Mayor Shahid Ali and former MPA Fazal Hakeem for chanting slogans against institutions, carrying PTI flags and blocking road during a rally on Independence Day in Swat.

According to the FIR lodged on the complaint of Banar (Mingora) Police Station SHO Jahan Alam Khan, under the leadership of City Mayor Shahid Ali and former MPA Fazal Hakeem, about 1,400 to 1,500 people took out a rally and hoisted flags of Tehreek-e-Insaf in Mingora while chanting slogans against institutions.

In the FIR, former Nazim Banar, former lady councilor Naseem Akhtar, former councilor Shaukat Ali, chairman Ziaul Haq Tajik, Hakeem Sardar Ali, Aamir Amankot, PTI division spokesperson Salahuddin Yousafzai, PTI’s district general secretary Akhtar Khan, Iqbal Kakaji, Fazal Subhan, Ajmal Khan, Jahanzeb, Saad Khan, Aftab Alam, former Nazim Farooq Ahmed, former councilor Ibn Amin, Akbar Hussain, Khurshid Dada, Muhammad Rehman alias Spain have been nominated.

The 14 namely accused in the FIR have obtained pre-arrest bail from the court of the District and Sessions Judge on Tuesday.

On the other hand, the police have arrested three persons while raids are being conducted for more arrests across the district.

TWO MINOR DIE IN WALL COLLAPSE

Two minor children died when dilapidated wall of Ladies Park collapsed on them while playing in Saidu Sharif.

According to police, six-year-old Muhammad Zubair, son of Hyder Ali, an employee of Saidu Teaching Hospital, and seven-year-old Sher Said who came to his maternal uncle’s house from Buner district, were playing in the back of Saidu Ladies’ Park, when the wall collapsed on them.

As a result, the two children were buried under the debris and died. Rescue personnel and local people reached the spot and started rescue operation and took out the bodies.

The local people have strongly protested against the incident and demanded the higher authorities to take action against the park officials.
