PAF-IAST and Chinese University to jointly launch BSc technology program

ISLAMABAD: The Pak-Austria Fachhochschule, Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (PAF-IAST) has invited applications for admissions in the BSc Mechanical Engineering Technology in collaboration with Chengdu University of China.

This program marks the Institute’s first technology offering, launched within the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, as stated on August 21.

It’s a joint degree program with Chengdu University, where students will spend two years in China, fully sponsored by the Chinese government, Gwadar Pro reported on Wednesday.

The BSc Mechanical Engineering Technology is accredited by the National Technology Council (NTC).

This hands-on program is aligned with industrial skill requirements and emerging fields such as Applied Artificial Intelligence and Data Sciences, along with traditional computational mechanics.

A senior official in the admissions department of PAF-IAST mentioned that the BSc programs have a duration of four years. He further stated that students can apply online for the program until the end of September.

Located in Haripur, KP, PAF-IAST is a collaborative venture involving three Austrian and five Chinese Universities, according to the PAF-IAST website. The foundation stone of PAF-IAST was laid on January 13, 2018.
