Teen-aged girl falls prey to stray bullet

RAWALPINDI: A 16-year-old girl fell prey to aerial firing in Khengar Village of Chontra after a stray bullet hit her in the leg while she was sleeping in courtyard of house, informed sources told daily Pakistan Today on Wednesday.
As per reports, the aerial firing was resorted by the private Afghan militia of illegal housing society Blue World City from its mansionsin but police did not take any action against the intruders.
Amber, a resident of Khengar area, was rushed to hospital in critical condition after suffering bullet wound to the leg, sources said. According to the girl’s family, surgery was performed to remove the bullet from the girl’s leg and now she had been undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Meanwhile, the occurrence of incident swelled shockwaves in the village and residents sharply criticised the Rawalpindi police for their negligence and called for initiating swift action against goons of private housing society to stop such incidents.
A police spokesman Inspector Sajjad Ul Hassan confirmed the happening of incident in limits of Police Station Chontra. He said police are filing case against the accused who would be arrested soon.
Meanwhile, Rawat police booked an Afghan national Wali Jan along with his three armed accomplices on charges of storming into house of director illegal Blue World City and top commander of private Afghan terrorist militia Chaudhry Nahim Ijaz and threatening his servants on gunpoint, according to sources. First Information Report (FIR) was lodged against Wali Jan and three others under sections 506ii/452/34 of PPC on complaint of Muhammad Aziz.
However, no arrest was made so far by the police. It may be noted that Wali Jan along with armed terrorists launched a brazen armed attack on head office of illegal BWC located on GT Road while inuring a man critically. Humak police had booked Wali Jan and gang members under multiple charges including attempted murder. Raids are being carried out by police to arrest the accused.
