Lahore police nab Mansha Bomb; retrieve grabbed public land

LAHORE: The City Police on Thursday arrested Malik Mansha Ali Khokhar, known as Mansha Bomb and retrieved land worth billions of rupees during a joint operation with the Lahore Development Authority (LDA).

The joint operation was conducted on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi who had received a number of public complaints during a visit to the LDA One Window Cell.

He ordered Lahore Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana and the LDA authorities to take action against the land mafia and retrieve public property.

According to LDA officials, the operation was launched swiftly during which Mansha Bomb was arrested and 75 kanal commercial land along PIA Road in Johar Town was retrieved.

The land mafia had constructed shops and other encroachments on the occupied land.

The citizens, in their complaints to the chief minister, said that Mansha Bomb had grabbed their lands.

They demanded the chief minister order retrieval of their lands, adding that they had become helpless. With the arrest of Mansha Bomb, the chief minister gave a stern warning to the land mafia that no one would be allowed to grab people’s lands.

On the other hand, the Punjab chief minister visited under-construction Shahdara flyover where he reviewed the pace of work and told the media that work on the development projects in Lahore was underway day and night.

“Citizens will be facilitated greatly with the completion of the Shahdara flyover project,” he said, adding that work on Lahore’s Band Road would start soon.

Malik Mansha Khokhar, also known as Mansha Bomb, is a notorious figure at the helm of a land mafia operating in Johar Town, a suburban area of Lahore. He is wanted by law enforcement agencies in connection with more than 70 cases related to land encroachment, firing upon law enforcement personnel, murder, and attempted murder.

Mansha Bomb has gained notoriety for targeting vulnerable individuals and unlawfully depriving them of their property. He has managed to evade numerous charges through cultivating favorable relationships with whichever political party holds power in Punjab.
