GUJRAT: The University of Gujrat (UoG) syndicate has approved a budget of Rs4.6 billion (approx) for the financial year 2023-24 as it met here at Hafiz Hayat Campus on Thursday.
The syndicate approval for the budget came in its 48th meeting which was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Muhammad Mushahid Anwar.
Other items on the agenda of the meeting included the various proposals and decisions that had been thoroughly discussed and unanimously approved at the meetings of the Academic Council as well as Finance and Planning Committee held recently.
The syndicate members deliberated over them all and gave their approval. They lauded the progress and development of the varsity made under the leadership of the vice chancellor.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr Tariq Mahmood, representing Chairman HEC; Mr Arif Ali, representing Secretary Finance; Prof. Dr Kausar Jamal Cheema; and Safia Javed Chaudhry. CEO Gujrat Education Department Dr Saifullah Dhillon; Deputy Secretary Muhammad Arfan Anwar, representing Secretary HED; Additional director Shahid Imtiaz, representing Secretary Law; and Muhammad Anwar Rashid attended online.
Registrar Muhammad Naeem Butt, Dean Prof. Dr Zahid Yousuf, Dean Prof Dr Faisal Mahmood Mirza, Director ORIC Prof Dr Audil Rashid, Director QEC Dr Fayaz Ahmad and Additional Treasurer Ghulam Safdar Malik also attended the meeting.
Prof. Dr Muhammad Mushahid Anwar told the syndicate members that the UoG had made great strides in providing quality education to its students.
The syndicate members hailed the progress made by the varsity, attributing the momentum of progress and development to the academic and administrative prowess of the vice chancellor.
Dr Mushahid Anwar told the members that providing quality education and research to our youth is the key to progress and development of our country.
“We have a dedicated faculty and other professionals who are fully committed to achieving national goals of progress and development,” the VC said.
