ATC grants bail to Elahi in judicial complex vandalism case

ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday granted bail to former chief minister Punjab Parvez Elahi in the Judicial Complex vandalism case.

The ATC Judge, Abul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain heard the judicial complex vandalism case against Elahi who is also president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

In his remarks, the judge said that nothing was recovered from Elahi during remand and he is not even named in the FIR.

The ATC court approved the bail of former CM Punjab ordered his release against a surety bond worth Rs20,000. Earlier on September 8, the court had sent Elahi to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.

The seasoned politician was arrested again from the Islamabad Police Line after being released on the order of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) following the suspension of 3 MPO order.
