LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has extended an official invitation to the Party Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) of Ningxia Province to visit Punjab who had accepted the invitation.
Naqvi, who is concluding his visit to China, remained very beneficial for increasing cooperation in bilateral relations, especially in the fields of agriculture and industry.
Mohsin Naqvi was the top trend on Twitter and the visit was given special importance and significant coverage by Chinese media.
During his visit, the CM inaugurated the Ningxia International Friendship States Forum of more than 18 countries. Mohsin Naqvi is the first Chief Minister in the history of Pakistan to inaugurate this forum.
He delivered a keynote speech and also laid emphasis on peace and prosperity in the region for a bright future. He described Pakistan-China relations as indispensable for peace.Sahiwal and Woosung and Bahawalpur and Zhongwei are declared sister cities.to support economy and trade, science and technology.
The chief minister visited Ningxia General Hospital and Medical University. He got briefing on solid waste management, Safe City cameras, policing and road infrastructure in Beijing.
Mohsin Naqvi had an important meeting with Communist Party Secretary Liang Yao Shong in Yinchuan. A ministerial delegation from Punjab participated in the 6th China-Arab Expo in Yinchuan.
Provincial Ministers SM Tanveer, Aamir Mir, Azfar Ali Nasir, Ibrahim Hasan Murad, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman and Finance Secretary Mujahid Sher Dil accompanied him.
The signing of documents to declare Sahiwal and Bahawalpur as sister cities with two Chinese cities is a great success, CM Naqvi said.
He said in the light of these agreements, mutual cooperation will be further promoted. In the meetings with Vice Governors of Ningxia, besides agriculture, irrigation and industry it was agreed to increase technical support in the field of information technology, said Mohsen Naqvi.
Ningxia’s health, agriculture, agricultural research, industry, one-window operation and civic amenities were observed during the visit, he said. Every effort will be made to ensure that the people of Punjab benefit from the outcome of this visit, said Mohsen Naqvi.
