Court defers plea against Khawar Maneka’s physical remand

OKARA: A court in Okara on Monday adjourned the hearing of former first lady and PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi’s ex-husband Khawar Farid Maneka’s petition against his eight-day physical remand in a corruption case until October 4.

Hearing of the case, which was due to be held on September 30, had to be adjourned until today on account of the absence of Additional and Sessions Judge Naeem Shaukat.

Senior Civil Judge Abrar Ali Khan had on September 26 granted to the police eight-day physical remand of Maneka in the case of occupying Auqaf Department’s land and collecting millions of rupees in revenue. Maneka’s two sons are also nominated in the case.
