— Seeks CJP’s intervention to ensure restoration of constitution, supremacy law
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Core Committee has strongly denounced the illegal, unconstitutional, brutal and inhuman treatment being meted out to PTI Chairman Imran Khan in jail, who the PTI terms as “prisoner of conscience”.
They also vehemently condemned the hearing of the false, fabricated and political motivated cases against the PTI Chairman in a fashion of kangaroo courts.
During the meeting, they fully supported and endorsed Chairman PTI’s announcement of no confidence in the judiciary pertaining to the role of judges in providing justice at different levels.
The forum said that after Toshakhana Judge Humayun Dilawar and Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Aamir Farooq, the conduct of Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain, who heard the cipher case, was also very bias, prejudice and unfair.
PTI Core Committee pointed out that PTI Chairman’s cases were handed over to the judges, who facilitated the unconstitutional and undemocratic state elements in the worst political revenge in sheer violation of law and justice.
The participants of the meeting warned that the tradition of turning the courts into kangaroo courts with the help of the compromised and unprofessional judges who lacked professional integrity and personal values and morals was very destructive and it should be put on a halt forthwith.
They went on to say that Imran Khan as a client and PTI as the largest federal political party in the country expressed no confidence in IHC Judge Justice Aamir Farooq unambiguously, who made a tradition to kill justice by reserving judgments on important legal points and depriving PTI Chairman of right to fail trial and justice.
They recalled that a petition against Justice Aamer Farooq was also pending in the Supreme Court and demanded that the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) should immediately take notice of the trampling of the law by compromised judges in his subordinate courts.
PTI Core Committee urged that the CJP should hear the pending petition against Justice Aamir Farooq and protect the right of Imran Khan to a fair trial and entrust the hearing of the cases to conscientious judges.
During the meeting, they also requested the CJP to take immediate cognizant of the suspension of the constitution in the country and non-adherence to the constitution and law to hold elections within the constitutionally defined time limit of 90 days.
The participants of the meeting stated that the country was deprived of a constitution, whereas the apex court was busy in spending valuable time and resources on matters secondary in nature.
The PTI Core Committee underlined that the sustainability and development of the state was completely dependent on the decisive status of the constitution and the supremacy of the constitution and law.
Therefore, the meeting suggested that the CJP should immediately focus on restoring the Constitution and supremacy of law instead of wasting energy on matters of lesser importance and secondary in nature.
The forum urged that the Chief Justice should make the elements involved in the promoting lawlessness in the country and transgressing law and constitution bound by the constitution and give the people their constitutional and democratic right to vote by ensuring holding polls within the constitutionally mandated deadline of 90 days.
