LESCO recovers Rs 830 million from defaulters

LAHORE: Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has recovered over Rs 830 million from over 26000 defaulters in its five districts during a recovery campaign.

According to a statement issued by LESCO spokesperson, the campaign was launched under the direction of Chief Executive Engineer of LESCO Shahid Haider and was assisted by Tehsildars in all five districts.

On the thirtieth day of the campaign, more than 2 crore 20 lakh rupees have been recovered from 723 defaulters.

Chief Engineer O&M (T&G) Zafar Iqbal in Northern Circle with the assistance of Tehsildar City Mujahid Zia and Tehsildar Shalimar Noreez Humayun collected 4.76 million from 78 defaulters and 4.76 million from 89 defaulters in Eastern Circle.

Manager Material Disposal Engineer Anwar Witto along with Tehsildar Model Town Rana Asar and Tehsil Cantt Sajjad Qureshi recovered 2.43 million from 83 defaulters in Central Circle and 1.37 million from 42 defaulters in South Circle.

Similarly, Manager Technical Engineer Muhammad Farooq with the assistance of Tehsildar Nankana Muhammad Iqbal Rasheed and Tehsildar Sheikhupura Muhammad Aslam Gujjar recovered 1.34 million from 76 defaulters in Nanka Na Circle and 2.14 million from 92 defaulters in Sheikhupura Circle.

And S (PMU) Engineer Abbas Ali with the assistance of Naib Tehsildar Kasur and Okara Mirza Zahid Baig recovered 1.88 million from 122 defaulters in Okara Circle and 3.39 million from 141 defaulters in Kasur Circle.

Chief Executive Lesko says that the institution is facing loss due to defaulters, action against them will continue.
