Several passengers hurt in Metro bus minor accident

ISLAMABAD: A number of passengers were injured when a Metro bus met an accident due to driver’s negligence while travelling to Islamabad from Rawalpindi on Tuesday.

The bus hit the boundary wall at Faiz Ahmad Faiz stop as the driver allegedly tried to overtake on a single track. Several passengers were injured and several of the windowpanes of the bus were broken.

According to detail, Metro bus accident occurred near the Faiz Ahmed Faiz station in Islamabad on Tuesday due to the negligence of the driver. The accident occurred when the metro bus, which was traveling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad, was overtaking another metro bus on a single track. The driver lost control of the bus, which collided with the boundary wall.

The windows of the bus broke in the impact, and several passengers were injured. However, the driver did not stop the bus despite the accident, due to which the passengers suffered severe panic. The bus finally stopped at the next station, where the injured passengers were evacuated and taken to the hospital.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the metro bus was driving recklessly and overtaking other vehicles at high speed. They also stated that the driver did not apply the brakes in time, which led to the accident.

The authorities have launched an investigation into the accident, and the driver of the metro bus has been suspended. The authorities have also appealed to the public to drive carefully and obey traffic rules.
