Khadija Shah sent to judicial remand in arson case

LAHORE: Social activist Khadija Shah was sent to judicial remand for 14 days by the Anti-Terrorism Court Lahore in an arson case outside Rahat Bakery on May 9. The case was registered against her by the Sarwar Road police station.

The Lahore High Court also summoned the Inspector General of Punjab Police (IG Punjab) in person on November 3 in Khadija Shah’s contempt of court petition against the police officers.

Justice Ali Baqir Najafi of the Lahore High Court heard the petition and expressed dissatisfaction with the report submitted by the police. He said that the report was not satisfactory and that the IG Punjab should appear in court for the next hearing.

Khadija Shah’s lawyer told the court that the Anti-Terrorism Court had sent her to judicial remand till today in the new case. The court asked the lawyer if he had challenged the order of the ATC, to which he replied that he had not.

The Lahore High Court then summoned the IG Punjab in person on November 3 to hear the contempt of court petition against the police officers.
