ISLAMABAD: NADRA like facilities will be provided at post offices in Islamabad, starting with seven post offices. Citizens will be able to get their identity cards modified, renewed, and reissued for loss at these post offices.
According to media reports, Postmaster General Mustafa Kamal said that the decision was taken in view of the large crowds outside NADRA offices. He added that the facility will be expanded to other cities in the near future.
On the other hand, media reports revealed that a dozen NADRA employees have been accused of issuing fake Pakistani ID cards and passports to hundreds of Iranian citizens. A charge sheet has been received by NADRA headquarters against these employees.
Media report revealed that the security of Pakistan was compromised by the issuance of these cards. Hundreds of fake cards were processed in different NADRA centers in Balochistan with the alleged connivance of NADRA employees.
After obtaining Pakistani passports, these Iranian citizens reportedly moved to Saudi Arabia, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Europe. It was further informed that the fake ID cards of more than 223 Iranians were processed at the Panjgur NADRA Center.
Earlier, more than 12,000 Pakistani passports were seized from Afghan citizens in Saudi Arabia. The Ministry of Interior took notice of the matter and formed a committee to inquire into it.
The Saudi Arabian authorities revealed that they had seized over 12,000 Pakistani passports from Afghan citizens. They informed the Pakistani authorities in
Riyadh of this matter. These fake passports were allegedly obtained by Afghan citizens through several passport centers in Pakistan.
