LAHORE: Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Sunday mourned the death of senior forensic scientist Dr Ashraf Tahir and commended his services while Balochistan Caretaker Chief Minister Mir Ali Mardan Domki has directed the Livestock Department to take all possible measures to control possible spread of Congo virus.
In a message on social media platform X, he said: “It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Dr. Ashraf Tahir, a stalwart in the field of forensic sciences and a true national treasure. His departure is an irreparable loss to our nation.”
He added: “Dr. Tahir was more than an individual; he was an institution in himself. Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Ashraf Tahir displayed an exceptional ability to adapt to the evolving challenges of law enforcement and investigative procedures.”
He further said: “His innovative approaches and tireless efforts have left an indelible mark on the landscape of criminal justice in our country. The vacuum left by his absence is one that we will never be able to fill.”
He pointed out: “Dr. Tahir Ashraf’s legacy will continue to inspire future generations, and his contributions to the betterment of our nation will be remembered with deep gratitude.”
He “Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. May he rest in peace, and may we carry forward his dedication to making our nation a safer and more just place.
‘All possible measures to control Congo virus’
Meanwhile, Balochistan Caretaker Chief Minister Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki has directed livestock department to take all possible measures to control possible spread of Congo virus.
“The department concerned needs to make all out measures to keep a check on Congo virus spread.”
In a statement issued here on Sunday, Ali Mardan Domki directed concerned officials to create awareness among people regarding Congo virus in cattle.
He directed livestock department to adopt all precautionary measures to overcome possible spread of Congo virus.
