PTI to participate in polls with full force: Core Committee

ISLAMABAD: While paying glowing tribute to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan for facing the unjustifiable incarceration with the steadfastness, courage and perseverance, PTI Core Committee made it clear that the party would take part in the long-awaited general elections with full might and Imran Khan would lead the party’s election campaign across the country.

PTI core committee, in its meeting, paid tribute to PTI Chairman for creating an unprecedented history of greatness, courage, bravery and perseverance, who was a metaphor of struggle, resistance and determination due to his fight of ‘Haqeeqi Azadi’ of his nation.

The forum said that the PTI Chairman had been in jail for over 100 days without any legal justification, who was being mere subjected to political revenge; however, even then he remained steadfast and was not ready to budge an inch from his stated and principled position.

“Imran Khan’s courage, steadfastness and determination not to compromise on the real freedom of his nation is becoming a source of inspiration for over 240 million people of the country,” they maintained.

They were of the view that the people would trample and burry the politics of those forever, who begged for deals and returned to the country under the umbrella of NROs to save their theft, personal interests and dirty politics.

The participants of the meeting vowed that no state tyranny could prevent PTI from entering into the election field with the agenda of supremacy of the constitution, restoration of democracy, upholding rule of law and putting the country on the path of progress and prosperity.

The PTI core committee announced that on the instructions of the PTI Chairman, the PTI would participate with full might in the elections of the national and provincial assemblies despite all kinds of state suppression and oppression, adding that the party would nominate its candidate in each constituency for the national and provincial assembly elections across the country come what may.

They expressed optimism that Imran Khan would be released from the jail before the election and he would lead his nation in this historic election campaign. The forum highlighted that the state was afraid of the terrible fate of its puppets; hence he might be kept in prison illegally; however, even then Imran Khan would lead his nation from behind the bars, vowing that he with the support of the people would inflict a crushing defeat on the tyrannical forces.

PTI core committee strongly condemned the state coercive measures and reprisal actions against PTI leaders and workers and the illegal fascist measures against peaceful political activities before the elections.

They made it clear that the nation would not accept rigged polls held in such uneven electoral field and with state interference, adding that after fixing the polls date, the reprehensible attempts to force PTI out of the electoral arena and deprive it of a level playing field have become more prominent before the nation and the world.

The participants of the meeting urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to avoid playing role of a vacillator in poll rigging rather it should ensure providing level playing field to all political parties to hold free, fair and transparent elections in the country.

PTI core committee also approved the release of a white paper on the destruction of the economy caused during the PDM and subsequently in the caretaker government. It was said that PTI economic team would issue an official white paper on the unimaginable destruction inflicted on the economy of the country during the last 20 months.

It was said that in the white paper, the economic catastrophe caused by incompetents and the criminals would be presented before the nation.
