OGRA swoops on Illegal LPG cylinder manufacturers; seals four units

ISLAMABAD: In a bid to ensure public safety, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority’s Enforcement Department has finally carried out a targeted operation in Gujranwala (Punjab) against the illegal manufacturers of LPG cylinders.

During the swoop, the OGRA’s officials sealed off four illegal LPG cylinder manufacturing facilities, having as found to be operating with substandard materials and practices, posing a significant safety risk to the consumers.

According to OGRA, prompt action was taken and the illegal facilities were promptly sealed, adding that First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed against operators of the facilities. This action highlights the authority’s unwavering commitment to ensuring safety and well-being of consumers, said OGRA.

Illegal gas cylinder manufacturing has gained prominence, driven by the high demand for this essential household item, especially in regions with a shortage of piped or natural gas. OGRA is resolute in its mission to eradicate the menace.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is committed to safeguarding public safety by addressing the production of substandard LPG cylinders, which pose a significant safety hazard, including the risk of potential explosions.

OGRA has also issued a stern warning to all illegal LPG cylinder manufacturers, urging them to immediately cease all activities prohibited by law, or they will face strict legal consequences.
