Punjab CM orders speedy completion of Bedian road project

LAHORE: Interim Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Bedian Underpass early Friday morning and inspected the progress of construction work.

The chief minister ordered to complete the construction work on side roads in 10 days. He directed to utilize all resources to complete side roads as soon as possible. He said that the completion period of the Bedian Underpass was 6 months but it was completed in 70 days due to the day and night hard work of construction staff and the constant monitoring of the work.

CM Mohsin Naqvi also directed planting and landscaping on green belts of the side roads.

Commissioner Lahore Division and LDA DG Muhammad Ali Randhawa and the contractor briefed the chief minister about the construction of roads.

CM Naqvi said this is the first underpass of Pakistan which was completed in a record period of 70 days. He said that 120,000 vehicles would move on the underpass daily.

Provincial ministers Aamir Mir, Bilal Afzal, Ibrahim Murad, Inspector General of Police, CCPO, Deputy Commissioner, DG of PHA, Chief Engineer of LDA and other concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
