Cabinet approves ‘attractive’ salary and fringe benefits of Deputy chairman and Prosecutor General of NAB

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Cabinet, through circulation of summary, has approved ‘handsome’ salary package and fringe benefits of Deputy Chairman and Prosecutor General of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), it was learnt on Tuesday.

According to sources, the federal cabinet through circulation of a summary of Law Ministry has granted its necessary approval to pay Rs 1,589,203 (more than Rs 15 lakh) under monthly salary, superior judicial allowance and Rs 68,000 if official residence is not provided to Syed Ihtesham Qadir Shah, Prosecutor General Accountability, NAB  while Rs 1,437,855 (above Rs 14 lakh) under the head salary and superior judicial allowance and Rs 65,000 if official residence is not provided to Sohail Nasir as Deputy Chairman, NAB, Islamabad.

Sharing details of other fringe benefits approved by the cabinet for the important positions of Deputy Chairman NAB and Prosecutor General of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) as well, sources said that medical allowance utilities, DA, TA, medical treatment admissible to Sohail Nasir as Deputy Chairman are equal to as admissible to a judge of the High Court, while medical allowance utilities, DA, TA, medical treatment admissible to Syed Ihtehsam Qadir Shah are equal to as admissible to a judge of the Supreme Court. Similarly, the fixed salary package and fringe benefits of Sohail Nasir (Deputy Chairman, NAB), and Syed Ihtesham Qadir Shah (Prosecutor General Accountability, NAB) will be subject to Income Tax as applicable.

Likewise, Prosecutor General NAB will get one Chauffer-driven car driven with upto 600 litre of petrol per month, electricity, gas and other allowances equivalent to a Supreme Court judge. Furthermore, Deputy Chairman NAB will get one chauffer car driven with upto 500 litre of petrol per month, said sources.

Besides, both Deputy Chairman NAB and Prosecutor General NAB will also get bonus on recovery, the sources added.

It is also learnt from sources that salary and fringe benefits for Deputy Chairman NAB and Prosecutor General NAB were approved on the recommendation of Chairman NAB Lt. Gen. Retired Nazir Ahmed.
