RAWALPINDI: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Region Syed Khurram Ali on Wednesday dismissed three Station House Officers (SHOs) from service for not responding to show-cause notices they were served on charges of conducting erroneous probe into different cases, informed sources told.
The three dismissed SHOs have been identified as Inspector Syed Hamid Abbas Kazmi (SHO PS Rawat), Sub Inspector (SI) Raja Gultaj Abbasi (SHO PS Cantt) and SI Husnain Shah, who was posted as SHO PS Dhamial, they said.
“RPO Syed Khurram Ali had served four to five show-cause notices to the three SHOs and summoned them in Ordeal Room for hearing but none of them obeyed the orders of RPO and got dismissed from service by him,” said a police spokesman while talking to The Nation. Also, the RPO has placed Personal Staff Officer (PSO) of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani and transferred hun to Jhelum district.
However, the PSO to CPO, identified as Sikandar, did not comply with the orders of RPO which made the regional police chief annoyed who directed OSI of CPO Office to execute his orders by sending the PSO to Jhelum or be ready to face the departmental action, sources said.
Meanwhile, RPO Syed Khurram Ali has also issued letters of advice and displeasure to CPO Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani and SP Potohar Division Waqas Khan respectively reportedly for not showing interest in the investigation of cases of May 9 violence, sources said. They said that public prosecutors had lodged complaints with RPO of non-serious attitude and non-cooperation of the police officers in probe of May 9 violence cases.
Nonetheless, a police spokesman denied the information that CPO and SP were served with the letters by RPO for not investigating the May 9 violence cases with dedication and commitment. RPO Syed Khurram Ali was not available for his comments.
