RAWALPINDI: Two soldiers of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded near a convoy of security forces in North Waziristan district, the military said in a statement.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, 33-year-old Lance Naik Ehsan Badshah, a resident of district Karak and 30-year-old Lance Naik Sajid Hussain, a resident of district Kurram, were martyred in an IED blast in Razmak area of North Waziristan.

The statement said that a sanitisation operation is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists present in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the military convoy, expressing his condolence over the martyrdom of two security personnel, and sympathised with the bereaved families.
He prayed to Allah Almighty for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks in paradise. The premier reiterated the resolve to continue the war against terrorism till the elimination of the scourge.
He said that the sacrifices of the Pakistan Army and the law enforcement agencies for the country’s survival were unforgettable and the whole nation felt proud of its martyrs and their families.
